According to a press releaes by TreeJ, some 3,500 people composed of over 100 media personnel and fans crowded the press conference for Jang's new film based on a comic titled "きみはペット," translated into "You're My Pet" in English, held at Ibaraki Prefecture yesterday.

In the new film, Jang Keun Suk will play a guy who coincidentally becomes a human-pet to a lonely career woman, played by Korean actress Kim Ha-neul, who excels at the workplace but is inexperienced at relationships.

“I’m only happy and grateful to receive so much interest and attention from the media and fans and can't wait to return the favor with my new movie,” Jang was quoted as saying in the statement.

Meanwhile, Jang is also set to make his singing debut in the country this month with the release of his first album which will be produced in a regular and limited edition on March 23 and a large showcase in Tokyo four days later.

[News] Bae Yong-Joon & Lee Na-Young refute marriage rumors - once again.
Cr. - http://joongangdaily.joins.com/

Top Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon has once again denied all claims regarding a possible marriage between him and Korean actress Lee Na-young.

On Wednesday, Japan's Asahi Weekly reported that the two celebrities would be walking down the aisle in April.

The report also contained comments from various sources saying the two had been seen visiting each other's homes.

Bae's management company, Keyeast, did not waste any time refuting the reports.

On the same day the Asahi Weekly article was released, the company sent a press release, saying, "We have already proved this rumor false in Korea.

We will prove it through our Japanese management partner and take a solid position on this matter".

Rumors and the two actors' romantic relationship began in Korea in 2008.

Bae has tried to dispel the rumors in the past.

During a meeting for fans held at the Tokyo Dome last year, he told the press that "Lee was just a co-star in a drama and I just have no clue where this kind of rumor came from".

[VOD & News] Show Luo suspected of buying charts "Only For You" Album.

Show Luo's newest album "Only For You" has now sold over 100,000 copies. To celebrate, his record company hosted a party for him and presented him with a cake with the numbers 103628 on it ,for the total number of albums he has sold, and gave him and his parents special versions of his album. However, readers have been questioning whether his sales numbers were really so high.

G-Music charts last week reported that his sales were 74.6% of all album sales, but when the percentages were carefully added up, the total came out to be 110% -- 10% more than the expected 100%. To these questions of whether he bought the charts, Show said, "Please ask the people who don't believe in me to come to my signings and see how many albums I sign."

[VDD & Lyrics] 'Anak - Freddie Aguilar' Music for child

Posted by Ratana 6:41 PM, under |

'Anak - Freddie Aguilar' Music for child.
"Anak" (Filipino for child or more accurately my son or my daughter) is a Tagalog song written by Filipino folk-singer "Freddie Aguilar". It was a finalist for the inaugural 1977 Metropop Song Festival held in Manila. It became an international hit, and was translated into 26 languages. The lyrics speak of Filipino family values.

"Anak" became a finalist in the first MetroPop Song Festival. It went on to become very popular in the Philippines and eventually abroad. The song generated a hundred cover versions, was released in 56 countries and in 26 different foreign languages, and it has sold 30 million copies. Billboard reported that the song was the number two world hit of the 1980s. As of 2006 it was unsurpassed as the all-time highest-selling record of Philippine music.

A successful movie of the same name was released in 2000, with a plot inspired by the lyrics of the song.

Anak (Child) : English Version - Freddie Aguilar

When you were born into this world
Your mom and dad saw a dream fulfilled
Dream come true
The answer to their prayers

You were to them a special child
Gave 'em joy every time you smiled
Each time you cried
They're at your side to care

Child, you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you live

How many seasons came and went
So many years have now been spent
For time ran fast
And now at last you're strong

Now what has gotten over you
You seem to hate your parents too
Do speak out your mind
Why do you find them wrong

Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you live

And now your path has gone astray
Child you ain't sure what to do or say
You're so alone
No friends are on your side

And child you now break down in tears
Let them drive away your fears
Where must you go
Their arms stay open wide

Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you live

Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you live

Hallyu Star Song Seung-heon (35) clarified the scandal between him and Kim Tae-hee among entertainment people.

At an interview on the 2nd somewhere in Seoul, he said no when he was asked if he was seeing Kim Tae-hee.

However he said, "I have been with her on stage for the Andre Kim Fashion show as models and we go to the same salon so I know her. She is an Attractive person".

In the recently ended MBC drama "My Princess" the two acted as lovers Park Hae-young and Lee Seol. They managed to look like a real couple through their hugging scenes, dating scenes and kiss scenes.

"It was difficult acting with someone as beautiful as Kim Tae-hee when the role of Lee Seol was supposed to be not pretty and reckless. There was a line where Park Hae-young (Song Seung-heon) said to Lee Seol (Kim Tae-hee), "With your face? You think that'll work?", but it wasn't easy".

Song Seung-heon's ideal type is widely known as Han Ga-in. In an interview during the drama "East of Eden" in 2008, he said his type was Han Ga-in and even in KBS 2TV "Sweet Night" he picked Han Ga-in as his type in the "Ideal Type World Cup".

In the broadcast then, Kim Tae-hee, Song Hye-kyo, Son Ye-jin, Kim Hee-seon, Lee Da-hae, Han Chae-young and many other female stars were up for runners.

Hallyu Star Kim Tae-hee has signed an agency contract with Japanese agency Sweet Power, her Korean agency Luah Entertainment said on March 3. A spokesperson for her agency said, "Kim Tae-hee signed the contract at the end of last year regarding her activities in Japan, and she plans to hold various activities in Japan. Now she is enthusiastically studying Japanese for her future activities".

Many famous Japanese actresses such as Maki Horikita, Uchiyama Rina, and Kuroki Meisa belong to Sweet Power, which specializes in managing actresses. Kim Tae-hee has been acknowledged in Japan with her appearances in dramas such as "Stairway to Heaven", "Love Story in Harvard", and "IRIS", and the recent drama "My Princess", in which she appears with Hallyu star Song Seung-heon, has been drawing significant attention in Japan.

Kim Tae-hee left for Japan immediately after finishing "My Princess" on February 28, and she has meetings with related people in the Japanese entertainment business.

[News] Rumors of another Yoon Eun-hye drama.

[News] Rumors of another Yoon Eun-hye drama.
Cr. - javabeans

…may be greatly (or at least slightly) exaggerated. But still, even though the talk is still in the rumor stage, where there’s smoke…

If we choose to take the optimistic approach, Yoon Eun-hye may be making her return to television this year, according to reports that she’s considering the project Sweet Scandal, which had previously gone by the title Lie To Me.

Sweet Scandal is a romantic-comedy drama planned for a post-Midas broadcast on SBS, and Yoon has been linked to it in the press before. It seems both sides (her management and the drama’s producers) are a little exasperated with the press’s preoccupation with her casting, and the PDs have stated that Yoon’s casting news is premature. Her rep also stated, “She has considered the project, but there has been no decision. Reports that she’s been cast have come out three times now. With the reports coming out every time she’s considering a drama, it makes it difficult to actually consider the drama.”

But it’s tough when you’re Yoon Eun-hye, whose every movement — however minute and/or insignificant — tends to draw huge amounts of attention. She’s also something of a hitmaker in dramaland, even more so than other, bigger, A-list-ier stars (like, say, Sohn Ye-jin or Jung Woo-sung, whose names alone haven’t been able to save sinking drama ships) — I think Yoon manages to hit that perfect sweet spot of big-name recognition, popularity, cross-generational appeal, and likable public persona. Even her lesser series have performed better than average, and her attachment practically has HIT! written over a project. (Goong and Coffee Prince were uber-hits; Vineyard Man was one of the only dramas to survive the Jumong juggernaut; and My Fair Lady still pulled in upper-teen ratings despite being a dismal wreck of writing and acting.)

The drama has two noted directors onboard: Kim Soo-ryong of the short melodrama series Father’s House and Kwon Hyuk-chan of this year’s body-swapping melo-fantasy Secret Garden. That would be right up Yoon’s alley, since I think she’s at her best in rom-coms with a few melo moments, rather than, say, straight-up drama like Love Song, the melodrama remake of Comrades that she signed up to do last year, but which has understandably stalled since Park Yong-ha’s suicide last summer.

There have also been rumors placing Yoon in contention for KBS’s upcoming Maids, the follow-up from Pasta‘s writer, and MBC’s Discovery of Affection, the Hong Sisters project that also teased a Gong Hyo-jin possibility. Frankly, I’d be happy to see her in any of these dramas. She’s not the most skilled actress out there, but she’s just so darned likable — she puts so much of herself into her roles that what she lacks in technical ability, she makes up for with her big, open, enthusiastic heart.

Currently, Yoon Eun-hye is promoting her rom-com movie My Black Minidress, which releases this month.

[News] 'Detective K' to open in N. American theaters.
Cr. - http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/

The Korean period comedy "Detective K" will make its debut in North American theaters this month.

Starring Kim Myung-min as a kooky detective, it was shown at the Berlin Film Festival's film market last month and buyers will distribute the movie to U.S., Canadian and Australian theaters.

"Detective K" is slated to open Friday in Los Angeles. Subsequent releases will follow on March 11 in San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas as well as in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington and Hawaii.

The film will also grace the big screen in Vancouver, Canada and Sydney, Australia on March 17.

Other countries such as China, Taiwan, Thailand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg have purchased the rights to distribute the film.

The comedy has been invited to show at the Hawaii International Film Festival, which opens on April 1.

Currently ranking among the top 5 at the local box office, "Detective K" traces the adventures of a detective trying to solve a tax fraud case during the Joseon Kingdom (1392-1910).

[News] Lee Da-hae drops two films in a row.

[News] Lee Da-hae drops two films in a row.
Cr. - javabeans

Lee Da-hae has dropped out of her movie debut(s), 3D blockbuster Song of Springs and Coffee (Ka-bi) (formerly titled Russian Coffee), the latter of which she’d signed on to a few months back alongside Joo Jin-mo.

Coffee is a late-Joseon-era spy melodrama about an assassination attempt on Emperor Gojong; Lee was to have played a Joseon barista who served coffee to him. Yoo Sun and Park Hee-soon are also starring.

With Lee’s last-minute departure comes shooting delays — in fact, it had initially intended to begin filming in December and wrap in April, but hasn’t yet begun. Lee attributes her departure to the delay. Adding to the pressure is the news that Joo Jin-mo has stated he will start looking at scripts for other projects, although he has not yet decided to leave the project himself. Plus, the formerly high-budget production recently had its funds slashed from 10 billion won to less than half that, which makes its planned location shoots in Russia and Japan — not to mention its anticipated summer release — difficult.

Along with this wave of news comes yet more (barely?) veiled criticism at Lee Da-hae, who seems to be dogged with bad press wherever she turns. It doesn’t help that she (in)famously dropped East of Eden mid-drama, and is starting to gain the reputation of a quitter. (Article headlines ranged from Lee Da-hae Drops Movie, Unfortunately to Lee Da-hae Quits AGAIN. Insert implied sigh of frustration as needed.) But you know what, I’ll say it: The woman badly needs a crash course in media training, and perhaps new management.

I really love the Giordano 2011 Spring ad campaign, and its not just because Jung Woo Sung is in it. I love the playful naturalness of the shots and the concept, which really dovetails with the clothing basics that Giordano is known for. Simple clothes for hanging out with friends. Now if only I could get some friends like Jung Woo Sung and So Ji Sub.

If my I Lub You came over I’d cook him pasta, too!

Normally the sight of So Ji Sub playing a harmonica with his long fingers would mesmerize me, but I am strangely enchanted by Shin Mina‘s derriere.

I reckon not everyone can look as good as these people wearing the same Giordano clothes, but gosh darn it, I want to try anyways! Giordano, you win this round against my wallet.

Shin Mina may not be an actress that I’m particularly fond of, but I have to hand it to her – she’s a born CF queen. She can transform herself into any image easily, and then convince you that you have to try it.

[NEWS] SNSD’s One Fine Day interview with ELLE
cr: allkpop

Is there anyone busier than idols these days? SNSD would especially be busy as they are currently performing all throughout Asia. Recently having gained the title ‘Dior’s Muse’ due to their new endorsement with the cosmetics brand, six members of the group sat down with Kang Ok Jin, editor of ELLE.

The editor commented on the members’ down-to-earth personalities, stating that, although they were stars, the members of SNSD were also bright young girls.

When the topic of ‘meal plans’ was brought up, the girls laughed off the idea. Sunny stated, “We eat whatever we want. We are very active so we have to eat often.” Hyoyeon added, ”After 10PM, YoonA always wants to eat roast chicken. So we eat together.” Sooyoung also talked about her metabolism, explaining, ”I want to gain some weight but I can’t. I don’t gain weight easily.”

When asked about the recent holidays, the girls each stated where they visited for their break. Tiffany went back home to San Francisco, Yuri visited Bali with her family. In fact, every member except Hyoyeon (who went to a ski resort) traveled overseas. The girls explained that, whenever they go overseas to film or perform, they can barely leave their hotels and that, although they don’t mind people’s stares, the members have gotten uncomfortable with the increasing amount of people who recognize them across the continent.

The ladies also revealed their ideal honeymoon spots, listing Greece (Sooyoung), Praha (Hyoyeon), Bora Bora (Yuri), Hawaii (Sunny), Mexico Cabo (Tiffany) as well as Milan and Firenze (Jessica).

Aside from talking about themselves, SNSD also discussed beauty. ”My skin is allergic to many things, so I get skin troubles easily. I use Dior products these days and they seem to work well,” Sunny explained. “I don’t touch my face when I get pimples,” Hyoyeon reflected.

As for the member that was most interested in make-up, the unanimous decision pointed at Taeyeon, who was supposedly both interested and skilled at using makeup products. As for fashion, Sooyoung revealed her favorite designers to be Isabel Marant and Alexander Wang, while Tiffany professed her love for D&G and Bluemarine. ”I really want to go to the New York Fashion Week. Isn’t it next week?” Sooyoung wished aloud. “If I didn’t become a singer, I would’ve worked in the fashion industry.”

[NEWS] “Beastly idols” 2PM perform at Tokyo Girls Collection 2011
cr: Tokyohive

Korean “beastly idols” 2PM performed at the “12th Tokyo Girls Collection 2011 Spring/Summer“, the largest fashion festival in Japan, which was held at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo.

As reported the other day, the six members were excited to perform at the fashion show, and with 23,000 people in the audience, along with 720 journalists and even more viewers on their YouTube live channel, they sure had plenty of reasons to look forward for their stage.

The reception was great, which is no surprise when considering they were performing in front of a crowd full of thousands of excited girls, and their amazing performance could have converted any skeptic into a fangirl.

Member Nichkhun commented in perfect Japanese, “Being able to be here today and standing on this stage makes me really happy.”

Meanwhile, Taecyeon was taken aback by all the beautiful girls. “We heard that all the stylish girls from Japan gathered here at this event and it really seems to be true,” he laughed, “I’m quite nervous now.”

Nichkhun ended their little comment section and appealed to the audience, “After this, we are going to be more active in Japan and we hope that you will support us.”

The group performed a total of four songs: “Heartbeat”, “Again & Again”, “Without U”, and “I’ll Be Back”.

My current drama addiction Sunny Happiness has brought a wave of fresh air to the small screen. I think the drama even has a good influence on its two lead actors, as Janine Chang and Mike He went to Singapore last month in February to promote SH looking cheerful and well-rested.

They both look so energtic and gorgeous! Mike’s new haircut is for his currently filming drama Mei Li, Go with Cyndi Wang, and Janine is one of the many Taiwanese actresses who never changes her hairstyle for any project.

The Mike+Janine pairing doesn’t make me ship them in real life, because while they have great chemistry onscreen and get along as friends, they don’t exhibit any of the telltale signs that they are actually interested in each other outside of the requirements of a drama. But in real life they still look so perfect together. Swoon.

Next up for Mike (after he wraps Mei Le, Go) – he’s headed to South Africa to shoot a photo book, and he’s busy working out and promises to show off his physique in the pictorial. Reowr! Janine’s next drama Returning Home with Zai Zai apparently just wrapped principal filming, and I’m dying to watch it later this year.

While in Singapore, Mike and Janine gave an interview about their first time working together, and we get such gem revelations such as: everyone on set was aware that Janine’s maid’s uniform had a ridiculously short skirt, Janine watched all of Mike’s kissing scenes from his previous dramas courtesy of fans who compiled it all into one video online, Mike considers Janine his sunbae (senior) in the business, Janine threatened to bite off Mike’s tongue if he French kissed her, Janine thinks both Zai Zai and Mike are hard working character actors but she has more chemistry with Zai Zai because they’ve worked together three times now, and both of them really like this drama because it’s a big change from their previous images (Janine – cold and aloof, Mike – rebellious and goofy).
